WhatsApp, one of the most famous and widely used messenger has recently rolled over the new WhatsApp status update to its users and we are sure that most of your might have downloaded till now. Unlike the previous version where you could put texts and quotes in form of your status, the new WhatsApp Status comes in form of images, videos or GIFs which will disappear after 24 hours.
This new feature has been inspired by the Instagram and Snapchat stories. However, the roll-out of this new feature has garnered very mixed reactions from the users and many want to get back to the old status format in the text format. So, all those who want to shift back or rollback to the previous version, here is a drill to it.
Rollback to old WhatsApp Status Feature can be done in 2 ways ….
So before we begin with straight away downloading and using the previous version, we make sure we get some backup for our chat and not loose all the data in hurry.
Step 2: A warning message will appear cautioning you about installation from third-party devices. Click OK.
Step 3: Open the WhatsApp application on your device and back up your chat. For this go to Settings > Chats > Chat Backup.
Step 4: After successfully backing up your data, uninstall the existing WhatsApp application. To do that, either tap on your WhatsApp icon drag and drop to Uninstall option listed at the top right corner, or navigate to Settings -> Apps -> WhatsApp and hit “Uninstall”
Step 5: Straight away head to APK Mirror Website and download this version 2.17.60 to your Android smartphone. Install this new downloaded APK.
Step 6: Now just setup your WhatsApp account with your details and you can see the previous version running successfully.
