Introducing latest technologies and making changes is a part of tech game by which all companies compete with each other in order to prove their supremacy. Continuing this game, Taiwan Smartphone manufacture Asus has once again cut down the price of its popular device Zenfone 5 in quest to increase their popularity between other and new customers.
Asus had announced their flagship devices in India last year, and guess what? Asus is now taking an unprecedented initiative by cutting down the price of Asus Zenfone 5 in India from the base price as it was launched before. Last week, the company has cut the price of Zenfone 5 16GB variant to Rs.9,999 from the base price of Rs.12,999 and now, the price of the 8GB version has also been slashed to Rs.7,999, which will be available from 21st January 2014 on Flipkart.
Surprisingly, this step by Asus will mesmerize their users and will give a tough competition to all other smartphone brands.
In case you’re unaware of the buzz created by this series of smartphone by Asus, Zenfone 5 was launched by Asus in the year 2014 which was followed by Zenfone 4 and preceded by Zenfone 6. This Zenfone series is available in two variant 8GB and 16GB. 16GB variant come with HD display of 5 inch (1280 X 720p), 1.6GHz Dual core processor, 8 Megapixel rear and 2 Megapixel front camera respectively, mated with 2GB RAM with storage capacity up to 64GB through micro SD cards and 2110mAh battery.
While 8GB variant which’ll be available from today will have same screen size, i.e 5 inch (1280 X 720p), 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor with Intel HyperThreading Technology. Everything else remains the same as 16GB version.
Now coming back for the deduction done by Asus in the price of their 16GB and 8GB model, it is evident that the competition is with two most popular budget friendly brands in Indian smartphone market which is Xiaomi and Micromax. Also, because of the tremendous popularity of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 4G and Micromax’s Yu Yureka which was launched last year but didn’t make their mark due to the price and only offering 8GB of storage capacity, getting in the same price bracket for stiff competition makes sense.
So let’s see whether this move is enough to impress tech lovers of India and help Asus in reviving their Zenfone series in this tightly competitive budget smartphone market.
